I dealt directly with Carl Roberts who is the Managing Director of RTS Financial Planning about the transfer of a Defined Benefit pension from a bank that I have worked for in the past with the proceeds going into a SIPP arrangement. This is a relatively complex & specialist transaction. Initially Carl took time out to consider the overall viability of this transfer analysing a good deal of information that I had sent him about my personal & family situation to see if this transfer was potentially in my best interests or not. Following completion of that process he agreed that the proposed transfer had considerable merit and then referred me to a reputable specialist pension transfer company called Pensionhelp who RTS Financial Planning have a relationship with and who specialise in defined benefit pension transfers. Pensionhelp then conducted an extensive review of my personal & financial situation before agreeing that the transfer was in my best interests. The transfer occurred recently with the proceeds from the pension now being held in a SIPP with an investment platform that I am happy & comfortable with. Additionally I asked Carl from RTS to cast a critical eye over the investments I had chosen to populate the SIPP & he highlighted the pros & cons of the chosen funds which has helped me to better understand the potential upsides & downsides of my chosen investments. Overall I am delighted by the quality of service that Carl has provided to me all at a reasonable, value for money fee. During the whole course of the pension transfer (which took a while to complete due to the complexity of this type of transaction) Carl has been totally professional, courteous & supportive of me during this sometimes stressful time.
