My hair's fairly challenging to cut for most hairdressers; and those who have, in the past, have often ruined what I love most about it. I moved to Bristol about 3 years ago and was, therefore, scared about having to find a hairdresser. Initially, I went to a hairdresser who had trusted reviews with Black hair. However, the final result was much shorter than I had asked and removed all of the volume that I had spent a lot of time growing. Consequently, a year later, I was again apprehensive, but needed to make sure my hair was kept in check. I found Roots (on Gloucester Road) online with a good reputation and chose to give it a shot. It was the first instance where a hairdresser took a deliberate effort to make sure they understood clear what was wanted from their client. Going as far to take steps little by little ,to make sure I was happy with how things were progressing. Overall, this led to one of the best experiences I've had with a hairdresser (upon my first visit)! On top of this I was also given professional advice on what I could do to my hair to keep it healthier. Roots has now become my go to hairdresser. I always feel very welcomed and come away with exactly what I wanted when I came in.
