I recently booked a massage to help with pain from a minor injury. My therapist put me at ease with his techniques which were the perfect amount of pressure combined with very professional draping and his soothing tone of voice suggesting that I add stretching daily. Within minutes I felt so relaxed and comfortable! He also encouraged me to breathe through any sore spots he was working on which really helped. Afterwards I felt in a dream like state, I definitely recommend Nick for RMT massage!

I did not enjoy my experience at Amba Spa. The environment was not relaxing or inviting. The lounge is very small with no view, it felt more like sitting on a sofa set in the middle of a kitchen than a spa. There are no real facilities to enjoy, and even the robes provided were very low quality. For $175 for a 50-minute massage, I expected a much better overall experience. Unfortunately, I believe there are many other spas that offer far more value and comfort.

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to have a massage on our anniversary, and we'd been meaning to head up to Muskoka. We found Amba at the Deerhurst resort, and they were able to take us on less than a week's notice, which was surprising. The facilities are tucked away, and quite honestly feel a bit cramped. It has the usual spa experience stuff (relaxing music over the intercom, a wide variety of skin care products, etc.), but the space feels tight. The staff were friendly and the massage was fine. The steam room for the men needs some maintenance, with mildew growing in certain areas, and paint needing to be redone. Not overly thrilled with our time there, but it was fine. The staff were the best part, from the front desk to the masseuses.

Really icky experience. Had a bad massage, despite asking twice for some pressure, I was basically just rubbed the majority of the time (supposed to be an RMT massage). When I voiced this to the receptionist she knew right away who I was talking about and felt bad, however, when speaking to the supervisor she basically dismissed this as “preference.” EDIT: Since posting this, management did reach out to me and provided me with a full refund. I do appreciate the step to try and make things right, and hope they follow up with the RMT.
